1. Select: Short Term | Long Term

 

There are no precise dates for long-term projects.
Volunteers can apply at any time of the year to serve as long as they wish too.

 

HF-LT01:-Teaching in primary or secondary schools:

A number of local schools lack staffs and teacher who can effectively teach and train the students in various subjects. Sometimes a teacher is left with the burden to teach as many as 60 students a day without rest: Hope Foundation has in this line been inviting a number of international volunteers who come to Cameroon in other to assist these local teachers in these schools. Volunteers are expected to teach any subject of their wish for example languages (French, Spanish, English or German), science subjects (physics, biology, mathematics or chemistry), computer usage and more. Accommodation is with guest families are volunteers can apply to stay as long as they wish to.

HF-LT02:- Working with deprived kids in orphanages and social centers

Due to the deteriorating situation faced by street kids and orphans in Cameroon, Hope Foundation works in collaboration with a number of orphanages in order to boost the standard of living of these kids. » read more

HF-LT03:- Working with Handicapped kids in a Handicap and Rehabilitation Center

Volunteers shall be working with handicapped people especially women and kids. These are physically and mentally handicaped people who are almost rejecte by society and finally find themselves in special social rehabilitation centers for daily care. Work shall comprise of daily care, education and entertainment of these group of persons. Motivated volunteers with the sense of care are highly welcomed anytime of year. » read more

HF-LT04:- Volunteering with Wildlife in a Zoo or Park

Cameroon has a rich wildlife potential and there are a number of zoo and national parks which work on conserving the wildlife. These zoos and reserve parks keep various species of animals such as drills, gorillas, monkeys; chimpanzees, birds, snakes, crocodiles and more. This opportunity is open to volunteers who love animals and can adapt under all working conditions.
Work shall comprise of taking care of the animals and daily duties shall be undertaken with special supervision from the centre’s officials. Cleaning, keeping environment clean, feeding, playing with animals are examples of tasks to be undertaken.

HF-LT05:- HIV-AIDS and Sexually Transmittable Diseases-STD education and sensitisation in local schools and communities

Volunteers will be involved in social and educative programmes in schools and local neighbourhood on subjects such as HIV-AIDS and sexually transmittable diseases-STD. In Cameroon today, many youths, students and even elders still lack the knowledge of what HIV-AIDS and STDs are really all about and how these dangerous diseases could be prevented. Volunteers and local educators shall organised various educative campaign methods such as conferences, street animations, house to house, group talks, video projections and even radio sensitisation, all with the aim to reaching the local population and getting them sensitised and made aware.
