Working with deprived children in an orphanage
Many children are orphaned due to many social reasons and they finally find themselves in various orphanages where they live their normal lives as orphans. Working to assist deprived kids and orphans has been so far an interesting and wonderful experience for most of our previous volunteers. It is an amazing and positive feeling to work with children who got another vision of life...living without parents! Hope Foundation work in collaboration with a number of orphanages and social centers to come to the assistance of these groups of children in one way or the other. » read more

Water Point contruction and renovation project
Water remains a very important human resource as far as development is concerned. Many communities and people in Cameroon today still have no clean water supply and this has been the cause of many water borne diseases and illness. Working in a local Health and Development Center
-Are you planning to study medicine in future? -Are you presently a medical student wishing to engage for a while in a health and medical project in a developing country? -Are you a nurse, medical doctor or health assistant willing to dedicate some valuable time in helping people in Cameroon? -Are you a curious volunteer willing to assist people in the medical branch? .........? Then this is the ideal volunteer opportunity for you during summertime! Work: You shall be working with a local health center in either the French or English Speaking area of Cameroon for a period of your choice! Work shall involve assisting the various health staffs with daily duties such as consultations, assisting patients, conselling, data collection, small office work and more! Volunteers are expected to be very flexible and open to new challenges, owing to the fact that they shall be facing a completely different help system as compared to where they come from. No special skills shall be needed for this position but volunteers are expected to be dedicated, open-minded, helpful and curious. » read more

Football Tournament for Development- A Sensitisation and Education Project against HIV-AIDS and Malaria
Malaria and HIV-AIDS remain two main killer diseases in developing countries and for these reason has Hope Foundation so far initiated and implemented a number of projects in order to curb these illnesses. Malaria kills children every 30 seconds and HIV-AIDS keeps on spreading at a very rapid rate in a number of local communities. Children and women remain the main victims. This placement is open for volunteers who intend to work in education and sensitisation programs where football shall be used as main educating tool to reach a cross section of the population. Football remains an absolutely crowd puller in Cameroon and we always to use our various tournaments to attract many people including youths, women and men, who subsequently gain important information on how to prevent and treat these illnesses. » read more

Working with disabled children in a handicap center!
Hope Foundation is partnering with 2 disability centers in order to bring help and assistance to the both the staff and inmates of these social centers! Here is an interesting and challenging volunteering opportunity where volunteers shall be expected to show a degree of social engagement and care. Work: Volunteers shall be working with handicapped people especially women and kids. These are physically handicaped children who are almost rejected by society and finally find themselves in special social rehabilitation centers for daily care. Work shall comprise of daily care, education and entertainment of these children. Volunteers shall be assisted and guided by the main staffs of the center.Motivated volunteers with the sense of care are highly welcomed to apply. Community & Civic Education to Women and Minority groups!
Training and education remains the best way to enhance the knowledge and skills of people in rural communities especially as regards their rights and how their standards of living could be improved. This project shall involved special training workshops where women and a number of minority groups shall be trained by trainers and volunteers about issues regarding civic education, women's rights and access to income generating activities. » read more

HFV05 LIMBE: 06-31/08/09 Football Tournament for Plantation Camp workers- A Sensitisation and Education Project against HIV-AIDS and Drug Abuse.
WORK:Volunteers shall be involved in a very special sensitization and education project on HIV-AIDS and drug abuse among youths. This project shall be centered on a football tournament which shall attract not only 120 football players but a crowd and population of up to 50,000 inhabitants. The target populations here are youths and plantation workers who live in camps. Sex life is these camps are very reckless, careless and uncontrolled. Youths are exposed not only to sexually transmittable diseases but to HIV-AIDS as well. Moreover many youths get themselves involve in drugs of different sorts and this has been a question of concern. A number of cases have been recorded in recent months and years and there is high need for education and sensitisation on these important topics. LOCATION: Limbe or better-called Victoria is a seaside resort colonial town located in the South West of Cameroon. This is a colonial and tourist town with much to see and visit. Many visitors and tourists always make a trip to Limbe before leaving Cameroon. The population is very welcoming and temperatures during this time of the year there are ok! On weekends and non working hours, volunteers shall always have the chance to relax on the sandy beaches or visit the Limbe botanical garden or wildlife zoo. » read more

Working in an Orphanage
Working to assist deprived kids and orphans has been so far an interesting and wonderful experience for most of our previous volunteers. It is an amazing and positive feeling to work with children who got another vision of life...living without parents! Hope Foundation work in collaboration with a number of orphanages and social centers to come to the assistance of these groups of children in one way or the other. Work: Duties during this project entails working fully with the children in their orphanage centers where volunteers assist in daily cleaning, preparing children to school, assisting them with home work, organising various leisure and sports activities with the children, and counselling. This project needs extremely motivated volunteers who like being around kids, who are very flexible and can be there like their own brothers and sisters. Volunteers should mention is they like working in a French or English Speaking orphanage. Volunteers shall be living with host families from where they shall leave for work every working day.

Teaching in a local primary or secondary school
Bringing some knowledge to share with local youths and children has been a very big motivating factor for many volunteers. Hope Foundation invites volunteers who got time and knowledge to share to come and work with a number of schools during any period of the year. We work in partnership with a number of local schools situated in both English and French speaking Cameroon. » read more
