After graduating from high school, Annelen decided to take a gapyear where during this period she decided to dedicate her time and energy on social and humanitarian work.
Her choice for this mission was Cameroon where she spent three full months working on various education projects.
Her first stop was Douala where she spent two months working with one of our partner school, Manaa Bilingual, as a primary school teacher and assistant. Her talent in languages and her friendly and flexible nature enabled her to easily adapt into the Cameroon way of living.
She could easily communicate both with the children at school and members of her host family. After spending sometime in the big city of Douala, she continued her Cameroon mission in Batibo in the North West Province where this time she worked in a local school still as a teacher an instructor. Children had the chance to learn many new things from her in man subjects such as mathematics, sports, sciences, games and general knowledge.
Working in Cameroon for her was an unforgettable experience and she plans to sometime travel back to work on an extended project.
